Then There Are the Demonologists

The field of paranormal investigation is a varied and controversial one. Researchers come from all walks of life and become involved with this endeavor for various reasons. Many have had events occur in their lives that cannot be easily explained and the field peaks their interest from that time on. There are those who are quite interested in the technical aspects and are very knowlegable regarding equipment and the latest ghost hunting gadgets and have expertise with the interpretation of data. There are those whose interest is based on a belief that they have an innate ability or sensitivity enabling them to relate to, see and converse with those on 'the other side'. They may even claim to have the ability to allow spirits to possess their bodies and speak through them (channeling/automatic writing, etc.). The objective, in these cases being to help the 'earthbound human spirit' to move on into the next plane of existence. Most investigators try to separate any religious beliefs they may have from the research they are doing in order to keep investigations as scientific as they can be. Then, there are the demonologists. There are those who hear the term 'demonologist' and think 'one who conjures demons'. Another interpretation of the demonologist is someone who studies the angelic and demonic heirarchies and has memorized the names of these eternal beings. Still another interpretation is the idea of the priest/exorcist from the movie of that name. Some lay demonologists belong to paranormal research organizations, others work independently. There is one thing they all have in common: a calling to the work. This 'paranormal investigator' will call upon the name of Jesus Christ in protection of others under diabolical attack. He/she will call upon holy and mighty warrior angels sent by God to intervene where there is demonic infestation. When the 'ghost hunters' have finished their evidence gathering, deciphering and interpretation and can offer no more to the terrified client, there must be someone to come in and assess the possibility of inhuman (demonic) involvement, offer advice and, hopefully, initiate a solution. The demonic has the intelligence of the ages and knows the identities of its opponents- those that meddle in its affairs on behalf of the vulnerable. The demonologist will be known by the diabolical and both he and those associated with him will be targeted. A very strong faith must accompany this individual, and those who assist him/her, at all times.

Demonic Possession

'Demonic possession'? The Demonic gains a foothold: Permission will be granted for the inhuman entity to enter. This could involve dabbling in the occult, or using divining techniques such as the Ouija board. In some cases the permission given will not have been so obvious in the victims memory. Infestation: Poltergeist-like activity generates fear, which, in turn, fuels the demonic. Oppression: Because time has no meaning to the inhuman entity, this stage can vary from weeks to even years. Paranormal phenomenon intensifies such as the movement of objects increasing in scale and tapping or knocking becoming loud pounding. Injury without obvious cause will occur such as scratches or bites. Nightmares and sleep depravation break down the constitution of the individual. A person's weaknesses will be targeted with the ultimate desired result on the part of the demonic: Possession A description of someone thought to be possessed includes: 1. Violent behavior and sacrilegious outbursts 2. Aversion to the spoken name of Jesus Christ, blessed objects and holy water, etc. 3. Abnormal strength 4. Ability to speak languages never before studied 5. Psychic or paranormal abilities such as telepathy, levitation or poltergeist activity 6. Knowledge of facts about other individuals they have never met 7. Wounds appearing that are not self-inflicted or inflicted by an obvious outside source Other phenomena associated with the presence of the demonic include repulsive odors, a marked decrease in the temperature and spontaneous movement or destruction of objects in the room of someone allegedly undergoing possession. Theoretical differences between possession and a neurobiological disorder (NBD) such as schizophrenia: 1. Christianity: Demons and their victims are averse to anything having to do with Christianity. Individuals with NBD are often devoutly religious. 2. An inhuman entity can impart hidden knowledge such as facts about someone that the possessed person has only just met. Someone suffering with NBD will not have this access. 4. There will be paranormal phenomena that are apparent to others around the victim in a possession. In NBD, nothing in the environment will seem unusual to others. 5. Those who have experience dealing both with demon possession and individuals with mental illness believe people who claim to be possessed more than likely are not. The demonic will try to conceal its presence. 6. If prayer solves the problem, then it was probably not schizophrenia. If medication and therapy helps, it was not demon possession. Seances and Ouija Boards

In a spiritual (and even psychological) sense, utilizing a Oiuja board, or participating in a seance, especially if one is "channeling", is giving something which is unseen permission to take at least partial control over ones psyche and motor reflexes. It can be taken by some entities as an open invitation to invade ones life, to varying degrees. Individuals who have experienced severe emotional trauma or who have low feelings of self-worth, or who may have suffered identity crises, are particularly vulnerable to this. The chances of a parasitic entity entering an individual's life through these methods (the same can obviously be said of automatic writing) are somewhat rare...but it only takes that one time for something to happen. If an individual has "crossed the line", so to speak, and as a result is being harassed by such an entity, then the permission which was originally given must be taken away. The individual must adamantly make it clear that he or she does NOT want this spirit entity in their lives. This should be followed up with a "cleansing", or spiritual blessing, during which one should have a special prayer recited over them, in faith, in accordance with their particular religious belief. If the person subscribes to no particular religious belief, then he or she must make a firm verbal proclamation that they absolutely will not further permit this invading entity into their lives, making certain to tell it to "depart now in peace." The individual should then practice envisioning a white, protective light surrounding their entire body (especially before going to bed at night), until he or she feels comfortable, and confident that the entity is no longer giving them a problem. Recommended Scripture/prayers: Psalm 23, Psalm 91, the Lord's Prayer, and John, chapter 4, verses 1-3.

Curses & Their Resolution

There are a number of ways in which a curse can be brought on...literally anything from someone cursing another under their breath, to a formalized ritual of destruction. The intent is the same. People can also inadvertently (or intentionally) bring curses down upon themselves, or their own family. (This would fall under the category of a generational curse.) There was a satanic coven we knew of, back in the 70's, in which the members seemed to be throwing out one destruction ritual after another against individuals with whom they harbored a gripe...and somewhat surprisingly, nothing much out of the ordinary seemed to happen to their chosen "victims". One of the intended victims did catch a bad cold, but this was in the middle of winter, and so did at least one member of the satanic coven. The point is, it's really a mystery why some curses seem to work so effectively, and others fail to. When the European settlers took over so much land from the Native Americans, it was not necessarily the Indians who were always cursing the white settlers. In fact, the settlers were actually cursing themselves, through their actions against the harmony of nature which God has put into place. The same obviously holds true today, with the continuous pollution and over-development which goes on, as well as the disruption of ancient burial places. Long-standing curses which prevail over certain areas/homes most likely originated from one or more acts of violence which took place there. To break this curse, the location should be dedicated to the Lord through special prayer, and the anointing of the entryways with blessed oil or water. The following prayer can serve as a basic guideline; it does not have to be exact: "In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, we dedicate this dwelling place to God, and break every seal of Satan, through the sword of the Holy Spirit. Amen." (Repeat three times, then anoint the entryways in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.)

String Theory, Spirits & Synchronicity

by Carl L. Johnson In the spiritual realm, it has long been presumed that disembodied, astral beings are composed of pure energy, which has to be a gross over-simplification. Energy is essentially, well, simply that. We all recognize that "Energy cannot be created nor destroyed by ordinary, chemical means." Therefore in a sense it's indestructible, plus it has potential to transcend both spatial and temporal limitations. What great properties for an immortal spirit to have! Now, we have at our speculative disposal the possibility of energy strings, some closed or connected, and others open or loose at their ends. They are universal, immeasurably smaller than and contained within the minutest of particles. They are the stuff of all, even pervading other dimensional realities and parallel universes. We need no longer remain confined to quantum physics. Presently I don't think that ghosts and demonics are composed soley of these energy strings with the matter detached, but they might well construct the consciousnesses of these forces, and I'm convinced that energy strings work the engines of the phenomenon termed (originally coined a century ago by pioneering psycho-analyst Carl Gustav Jung) "synchronicity." By this he meant series of uncanny, causal coincidences in human affairs which ostensibly appear unrelated but upon examination suggest a significant relation. This phenomenon is as subtle and immediate as is a human thought. Whether it is actually generated by thought emanations, I can't even venture a guess. Did proto-mammals and perhaps dinosaurs as well commonly experience synchronic elements of which they were never even aware? Do lower forms of life continue to be effected by this force, perhaps in a larger sense being governed by it? In my own daily life, I often seem to swim through phases of synchronicity, particularly when I'm dealing with numeric rosters or calculations. How about you?

The Ranks and Categories of Principal Devils and Chief Demons

By Carl L. Johnson At the beginning of the nineteenth century, the Englishman, Francis Barrett, published a book called 'The Magus'. (Although his writings were given credence by many researchers and he was regarded as a proficient demonologist, as an author, Esquire F. Barrett was obviously influenced by the codes of moral conduct which prevailed in his country during his lifetime. But then, in all fairness to his work, the sources upon which he drew were quite antiquated!) In that work he proposed the following classification, dividing all evil spirits (which I suppose should all be construed as demonic) into nine 'degrees'. They are as follows. 1. 'The False Gods or Demons' who wish to be worshipped like God. 2. 'The Spirits of Lies' who elude men by divinations and predictions. 3. 'The Vessels of Iniquity' or 'Vessels of Wrath': inventors of evil things such as cards and dice. 4. 'The Revengers of Evil' whose prince is Asmodeus. 5. 'The Deluders' who imitate miracles and serve conjurors and witches; their prince in Satan. 6. 'The Aerial Powers' who offer themselves and join themselves to thunder and lightning, cusing pestilence; thie prince is called Meririm. 7. 'The Furies' who are powers of evil discord, war and devastation, led by Abaddon. 8. 'The Accusers' or 'Inqusitors' whose prince is Astaroth; in Greek he is called 'Diabolus' which means 'accuser' or 'calumniator'. 9. 'The Templars' and 'Ensnarers', one of which is present in every man,* which we call the evil genius; their prince is Mammon whose name means 'intrepid covetness'. *(Here the author neglects to include both sexes, which apparently was not considered a relevant oversight during the era since 'man' generally was taken to mean 'mankind'.) In this book the author(s) have attempted to describe as many different types of demons as possible. The classifications is at least as arbitrary as that of a great number of earlier demonologists and, instead of basing it on some magical system, it has been anchored in geography. This manner does not necessarily include repitition. No matter how different any given cultures might be, the very existence of malign, supernatural spirits which have to be held in check by all of the cultures investigated, shows the similarity of certain deeply rooted human concerns and collective fears. The Hierarchy of the Infernal Regions (It will be apparent that the demonologist who originally compiled this roster of the chief demonic echelons was predisposed to Western European military assignation!) Here are the names of the principal infernal spirits: Lucifer, Emperor. Beelzebub, Prime Minister. Astaroth, Grand Duke. Then come the superior spirits that are subject to the above-mentioned devils: Lucifuge, Prime Minister Satanachia, Grand General Agaliarept, Grand General Fleuretty, Lieutenant General Sargatanas, Brigadier Nebiros, Field Marshal These six demons just mentioned direct, by their power, the entire infernal might granted to the other demons. The have at their service eighteen other spirits subordinate to them, as follows: Bael Agares Marbus Pruslas Aamon Barbatos Buer Gusoyn Botis Bathim Pursan Abigar Loray Valefar Forau Ayperos Nuberus Glasyabolus And, although there are still millions of demons subject to the above-mentioned ones, it is quite useless to name them, since they are deployed only at the discretion of the superior demons who may compel them to operate in their stead, because they use all these lower spirits as their workers or slaves. Demons Who Rule The Earth: Oriens, ruler of the spirits of the East. Amemon, ruler of the spirits of the South. Eltzen, ruler of the spirits of the North.
